Sport Ability

Since its inception the Get BACk Challenge has recognised the importance of activity and sport in the lives of children with special needs.  We have directly supported many organisation who work with children with disabilities.

Through the great work of the Sports Inclusion Officer in the Limerick City Sports Partnership an extensive range of structured physical activity sessions for children have been created in activities such as Boccia, swimming, dance, basketball and multi-sport inclusive clubs.  Many of the groups supported had a number of athletes participating in the 2010 Special Olympics National Games.

Among the groups who have benefited from direct funding include Enable Ireland, Down Syndrome Limerick, Deaf Community, Spina Bifida, Limerick Celtic Special Olympics Team.

Special Olympics

The Get BACk Challenge was proud to support the 2010 Special Olympics games that took place in Limerick in June 2010.  We are particularly delighted that many of the athletes have been supported through various programmes run under the Get BACk Challenge.
